YORK, Pa. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Men's Tennis Team took on York College (Pa.) and fell to the Spartans 9-0. The undermanned Fighting Hawks played well but the high winds were difficult to deal with for the visitors and the home team knew how to play them, picking up wins at all six singles and all three doubles matches.

The most highly contested match of the day was at #1 singles when Rashad James fell to Tim Mowrer 6-2, 6-2. Harold Fowler also played well at #3 singles falling to Ryan Fickes 6-0, 6-2. Dorian Thomas, William Ntirenganya, Michael Davenport and Delonte Monk all fell 6-0, 6-0, in their respective matches.

All three doubles teams were shut out by the Spartans, falling 8-0.

The Fighting Hawks are back in action on Friday, March 7 at 1:00 p.m. in a conference match against Howard.
