RALEIGH, N.C. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Lady Hawks will face the Hampton University Lady Pirates today in the quarterfinals of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tournament at the RBC Center. UMES (17-12, 10-6 MEAC) enter the game after losing two straight to close out the regular season, including a 57-46 decision to Delaware State on Thursday. Only two players scored in double figures for the Lady Hawks. Casey Morton led the team with 12 points off the bench, while April McBride tossed in 10 points. Tiffany Reid grabbed a team-high eight rebounds. Hampton (17-12, 10-6 MEAC) enters the matchup on a three game winning streak after defeating Howard on Thursday, 74-46. The Lady Pirates are led by Rachel Butler, an All-MEAC Second Team Selection, with 13 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, while Artavia Burns is adding 9.7 points per game. The Lady Pirates won the only meeting against UMES this season back on February 11, 68-64. Reid led the offensive attack for the Lady Hawks with 17 points, while McBride and Morton added 16 and 15 points, respectively. Hampton was paced by Butler with 15 points. Quanneisha Perry chipped in with 14 points off the bench. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. The winners will face number one seed North Carolina A&T on Friday at noon.
